Lhasa- Everest
Tour
This tour includes few days in Lhasa visiting some of the must visit sites (Potala Palace, Jokhang temple and etc. And we visit the world's highest mountain "Mountain Everest".
Day 1 : Arrive Lhasa
We will welcome you at the airport and bring you to your hotel to rest for awhile to recuperate after your long flight. Later on our organizer/hostess will come to give you some tips, dos and don’ts regarding to the altitude sickness and about the wonderful/exciting journey we are starting together. On one end we will have traditional Tibetan dinner dinner together. Afterwards we bring you back to your hotel for the night.
Day 2 : Lhasa sightseeing- Potala Palace & Jokhang temple.
In the Morning, we will visit Potala palace, a fabulous Castle which is build by Tibetan builders without any machine. This palace had served both as administrative centre and religious centre. In Tibet, It was built in the 7th century by Tibetan king “Songtsen Gampo” and later renovated by 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century.
In the morning, we will visit the Jokhang Temple, this is the spiritual center of Tibetan Buddhism, and attracts thousands and thousands of pilgrimage from all over Tibet and around the world each year, it was built by the great King Songten Gampo in the seventh century. We do this sightseeing and workshops first, so that when we go to Everest, we will be already acclimatize and will able to enjoy the journey with pleasure.
Day 3 : Lhasa to Shigatse
After breakfast we start the journey and head by car to Shigatse which is the second largest city in Tibet. It is also the hometown of Panchen Lama, so His famous monastery Tashi Lunpo is there; there are stupa tombs of different Panchen Lamas.
Day 5: Tingri to Everest BC
After breakfast, we leave Tingri and head to the Mount Everest, we stay overnight in the Rongbuk hotel. While passing through, you will see Himalaya range including peaks over 8000, Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, Shisha Pangma and Cho Oyu. The best moments to watch Mt. Everest's are early morning during the sun rise and late in the evening when the sun is setting, during that time the Everest is shining like a goddess in the sunglow. The first sight of the mighty Everest simply leaves you speechless and dreamy.
We will have lunch at Tashi Zom where we can visit some village houses and meet the local people. We will also visit the Rongbuk monastery which has both monk and nun. We will have our dinner at Rongbuk monastery teahouse, the monks and the nuns will come to teahouse so we can meet them and chat.
Day 6: Everest base camp to Shigatse
After breakfast we can take some wonderful pictures of Mt Everest, we spent a night in Everest that is because if yesterday we did not see clear Everest due to whether then we have another opportunity to have a look and take pictures. After a good look at Everest we will head back to Shigatse the second largest town. Spend the night in Shigatse hotel.
Day 7: Shigatse to Lhasa
After early breakfast we will head back to Lhasa, on the way we will see the most beautiful Yamdrok Yumtso(lake), Karola Glacier and Mount Nyichankangsar. The road scenery is unforgettable; there will be many yaks and sheep and also some wild animals near Karola Glacier. We will see many villages and famers, we can stop at a village and look around and meet local people.
Day 8: Departure!
After breakfast we will bring you to the airport and help you to check in and then say goodbye and see you.
Day 4: Shigatse to Tingri
After early breakfast we will visit Panchen Lama’s monastery Tashi Lunpo monastery where you will see many Tibetan pilgrims who has come from far away to get blessing. We will also come across many small villages; we can stop and look around, most of them are farmers with some yaks and sheep, we can also see authentic Tibetan houses and decorations and them doing farming. We will have our lunch at Lhatse, there people are famous for singing and play Tibetan guitar ( Damnyan). We will come across people singing songs. We will spend the night at Bebar a small town.
